From as far back as she can remember, Jess has always been in love with horses. From the age of 4, Jess has been riding and competing on her own horses. She competed up and down the East Coast, in various circuits when she was younger. Her experience started out in the jumpers, where she won locally and at the state level for many years. Jess then went on to compete in western pleasure, hunter under saddle, halter and showmanship, winning all the way up to the national level.

Jess also holds a state certification for EMT, and a certificate for completing Firefighter 1. She has over 6 years of experience handling medical emergencies, trauma victims, and 911 calls. She holds a current CPR card. She volunteers for Stillwater Emergency Rescue Squad and Stillwater Fire Department, as well as working for Saint Clare's Hospital as an emergency medical technician, servicing Morris and Sussex county on their ambulance.
